Dark fairy tales illustrations by Camille Rose Garcia
When we think of tales like Snow White and Alice in Wonderland comes immediately to our mind beautiful images and happy characters. But the artist Camille Rose Garcia brings a different vision in her dark fairy tales illustrations.
Born in 1970 in Los Angeles, California, Camille began working on murals as an apprentice, along with his mother who was muralist and painter. Early on she acquired an admiration for children’s stories and, according to her, she was influenced by the names like Walt Disney and Philip K. Dick.
Her illustrations have a slightly different style of children’s illustrations that we are used to see. Garcia took a gothic style and even a little scary in her drawings. Her work has appeared in major magazines such as Modern Painters, Juxtapoz, Rolling Stone and Flaunt. Furthermore, Camille has exhibited his work in several important galleries in the United States.
